Elder, Senior Pastor

Bart is an Alabama native and has lived in the Birmingham area since 2009. He and his wife Leslie met sometime during kindergarten (they guess), began dating during high school, and have been married since 1998. Before planting Christ Fellowship Church, Bart served as Pastor for Biblical Training at The Church at Brook Hills. During his spare time Bart enjoys reading, coffee, and coaching youth sports. He and Leslie have four children: Rachel, Jonathan, Abigail, and Isaac.

Nick

Nick Murray

Elder, Associate Pastor

Nick grew up in the Birmingham area. He did his undergraduate studies at Samford University, where he met his wife Bethany. Nick and Bethany married in March 2011. Nick earned his Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School in May of 2014. Nick and Bethany have been a part of CFC since its beginning. Nick helps to coordinate Growth Groups at CFC. He and Bethany have three children, Henry, Lucy, and Gregory. Nick does a variety of things, but focuses on worship planning, membership, and CFC Kids.

Billy

Billy Shepard

Elder, Associate Pastor

Billy Shepard has served as an elder at Christ Fellowship since August of 2018, and has the privilege of leading CFC’s ministry to middle and high school students. Billy received his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He, his wife Sarah Beth, and son Beau live in Bluff Park where they love having people in their home. Billy enjoys golf, cooking, fishing, and Atlanta Braves baseball. Billy does a variety of things, but gives oversight to Growth Groups, CFC Youth, and men's ministry.

Will Mitchell

Will grew up in Birmingham and attended college at UAB. Will and his wife, Ryann, were married in 2010, and have two daughters, Olivia and Elizabeth. He is a self-proclaimed connoisseur of music, back porches, sports, and his wife's cooking.

Rebekah

Rebekah Rein

Rebekah grew up in the South, moved to Virginia for college, and spent the next ten years working in Washington, DC. She was blessed in her single years to be supported by a strong church community and through deep relationships with other women. Her greatest earthly blessing came along in 2007 when she married Duncan Rein. In 2011, they relocated to Birmingham and joined CFC when it formed in 2012. They have two girls, Lucie and Donna, and as a family, enjoy hospitality, travel, and reading together.

Sarah Beth Shepard

Sarah Beth grew up in the Shoals area of Northwest, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University in 2013. Since moving to Birmingham in the fall of 2013, Sarah Beth (also known as SB) has been a member at Christ Fellowship Church. SB is married to Billy Shepard and they have two boys, Beau and Cameron. SB loves to be outside, spend time with friends, keep things organized on spreadsheets, and watch baseball with her boys. SB is helping lead CFC Kids behind the scenes coordinating classrooms, volunteers, and events like VBS for the great children at CFC. The best part of her job is getting to connect with the many volunteers in CFC Kids and seeing how the whole church joins in the care of our youngest neighbors.

Bethany Murray

Elementary Coordinator

Bethany grew up in Montgomery, Alabama and is a graduate of Samford University. She is married to Nick and they have three children, Henry, Lucy and Gregory. Bethany loves being a mom and loves serving the local church alongside her family. She enjoys time with her family playing games, watching sports and taking trips togther. She is grateful to serve in our kids ministry helping disciple the next generation.

Keri Westbrook

Keri grew up in Huntsville, AL and attended college at Auburn University, where she met her husband Brian. Keri and Brian married in 2017 and have one son named Eli. Keri enjoys being outside, baking bread, and competing in various sports like ultimate frisbee, running and cycling. Keri does a number of administrative tasks and helps with the CFC youth ministry.

 
Jared

Jared Jones

Jared grew up in northeast Alabama. He met his wife Emily in college at Jacksonville State University, and they married in March of 2017. Jared earned his Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and Emily have one son, Easton. Jared gives oversight to facilities and operations at CFC. He enjoys watching the Braves, playing golf, hiking, and fire pits. Jared provides leadership in the areas of stewardship and facilities.

Frankie Thomas

Pastoral Assistant

Frankie Thomas was born and raised in Decatur, Al. He attended Auburn University and finished with a Bachelor's in Exercise Science in 2013. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling at Birmingham Theological Seminary in Birmingham, Al, along with working at his full-time job. When he is not attending class or working, Frankie avidly enjoys theater, sport (go Gators!), movies and playing games. Frankie is a huge foodie and loves spending quality time with his friends

Paige '23 

Paige Herr

Women's Ministry Content Director

Paige grew up in Homewood and married her high school sweetheart, Jonathan. They live in Homewood, with their three children, Sam, Henry and Rivers. She attended Auburn University and graduated with a degree in marketing. After spending some time in the corporate world, the Lord graciously allowed her to stay home and during that season, she served on staff for a parachurch ministry for 5 years. From that experience, God grew her loved for women's ministry, bible study and the church. Her desire is to love and serve the church by leading, training and providing content for women's studies that by His grace, increase both biblical knowledge and affections for God, for His glory.
